38 beagles were rescued from 5 different laboratories across the entire U.S. this summer.

This was the largest U.S. beagle rescue to date, according to the Beagle Freedom Project.

All of the beagles had been born and raised in labs, as they were “purpose-bred for research.” The BFP had to work with the labs to rescue the dogs instead of euthanizing them, which is normal.

All of the beagles were saved and will learn to trust over time as they are surrounded by people more and more. They eventually will be given up for adoption.

Many of the dogs suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The dogs were able to play with each other, touch grass and play with toys for the first time in their lives.
